Joan was born in Vancouver BC, Parents Mary-lee Boruk (mother) George Boruk (father) both deceased. Siblings, Georgine (Michael) AllenNewman, Carol (John) Gilje, Gordon Boruk (deceased). She married her husband Edward Konfederak July 29, 1972, and resided in Penticton BC. They had 3 beautiful children Brian, David and Sue. She was extremely family oriented and always put her family first and would do anything for them. She loved her husband and kids so much! As well her sisters, her niece and nephews. Joan worked many years at City Hall in the engineering department, the MLA office, and was a realtor with Coldwell Banker. She taught The Dale Carnegie course and always gave the most beautiful speeches, she did lots of volunteer work for The Diabetes Association, Penticton and District Society for Community Living, (as her brother lived in a group home in Penticton). She was a very hard worker and she was known for her outgoing personality, her amazing baking skills, and contagious laugh! She lit up a room when she entered! She had the most beautiful heart and was so giving towards others. A very loving and affectionate woman. She was the best wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend, anyone who knew her loved her. Joan spent her last 5 years battling cancer and many other health issues and she was a fighter! She suffered so much and showed so much strength and grace during it all. She will be extremely missed by so many. God has now blessed us with an angel, to forever be by our side. A Celebration of life will be held September 18, 2021 at the Eagles Club (upstairs) in Penticton, BC at 3:00 pm. Due to Covid restrictions there may be limited seating.
