Warriors return home for pair of games on Family Day long weekend

-

After 23 days away from home, the West Kelowna Warriors will return to Royal LePage Place for a pair of games on Family Day weekend to battle against the Trail Smoke Eaters and Merritt Centennials.

With three more games on the road, two this weekend in the Shuswap and North Okanagan, the Warriors make their return to RLP on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. to face-off against the Smoke Eaters on a night that has been an annual tradition around the rink for the past 13 seasons.

Warriors Chaplain Pastor Don Richmond brings his annual Faith Night to West Kelowna as local churches will flock to RLP and cheer on the Warriors. Pastor Don will also have a raffle table available with some great prizes to be won while local pastors will compete in a “boot hockey” intermission game.

“This Faith Night evening is a big annual event for West Kelowna churches and also for the larger Faith community,” mentioned Richmond, “It is a fabulous opportunity to come together and recognize our presence in the city and to support the Warriors at the same time.”

The Monday game will happen on Family Day at 2 p.m. at Royal LePage Place as the Warriors welcome the Merritt Centennials to town.

Children 12 years of age or younger get into the game for free while there will be a post-game Skate with the Warriors following the final buzzer. Fans are encouraged to bring their skates and helmets and join the Warriors on the ice after the game.

This will be the fourth time the Warriors and Centennials will meet this season of their sevengame season series with puck drop set for 2:30 PM at RLP.

The Warriors (22-13-4-0) will continue on a stretch of games away from home this weekend, beginning in the Shuswap against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (19-15-4-1) on Friday night.

Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m. from the Shaw Centre.
