Jan. 10, 1924 – Feb. 23, 2023 Born on January 10, 1924 in Vancouver, to Tom and Elsie Lyons of Vancouver. Both her parents died when she was a young girl. Barb and her brother Bud went to live with her aunt and uncle on their dairy farm in Langley. When living on the farm, she came to love the Jersey calves and became a member of the 4H. In 1941, Barb and her teammate won the BC Championsh­ip for judging dairy cattle and they went on to win the Dominion Championsh­ip in Toronto. She went on to work at Plewers Drug Store in Langley. Barb was very fond of music and studied with a voice teacher. She sang at many weddings, church services and community concerts. In 1946, Barb met John and they married a year later. They farmed in the Langley area for several years after which they moved to Chilliwack and lived there for twelve years. They raised 5 boys and moved to Penticton in 1963. When the boys were older, she worked at the Bay for a few years and the hospital for 14 years. Barb was predecease­d by her husband John in 1999 after 52 years of marriage; her son, Dean and granddaugh­ter, Trish. She is survived by sons, Scott (Janet), Craig (Colleen), Paul (Annette). and Lee; granddaugh­ters, Corrie (Mike), Jamie (Dan), Christy and Kelly; great grandchild­ren, Mia Lincoln, Knox and Max.
