Rams’ Campbell earns second NFL invitation
University of Regina Rams cornerback Tevaughn Campbell has accepted an invitation to a second NFL mini-camp.
Campbell, who is to attend a New York Giants camp this weekend, has been invited to the Washington Redskins’ mini-camp the following weekend.
Campbell, the 15th-ranked prospect for Tuesday’s CFL draft, set a record at the CFL combine with an electronically timed clocking of 4.355 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Dusty Keshane allowed only two hits and struck out 10 over five innings as the Gordon Hawks defeated the Muscowpetung Rez 9-1 in Western Cycle Rambler Park Fastball League action Tuesday.
Terrell Walker homered and drove in three runs for the Hawks. Jesse Laframboise homered for Muscowpetung at Rambler Park. Moses Cappo was the losing pitcher.
The second annual Paul Woldu Football Camp is slated for May 24 at Mosaic Stadium.
The camp focuses on skills and technique, nutrition, strength and conditioning, and video and mental preparation.
Some of the current Saskatchewan Roughriders players who are expected to take part as instructors are guard Brendon LaBatte, receiver Chris Getzlaf and defensive back Macho Harris.
The registration fee is $100. The camp is for high school-aged players.
