Lopez to host 2015 American Music Awards

Jennifer Lopez starts a big round of television appearance­s — soon to encompass her drama series Shades of Blue and the final season of American Idol — as host of this annual event, honouring artists in various genres based on fans’ votes. Taylor Swift leads the nominees with six bids. Besides Lopez, scheduled performers at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater include Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez, Meghan Trainor, Luke Bryan, One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer. (ABC, CTV)

RAISING WHITLEY

The hit unscripted series returns for its midseason premiere with The Whitley Interventi­on: Part 1, a new episode that finds actress and comic Kym Whitley hitting the road for Orlando, Fla., with her eclectic band of friends known as The Village. Kym is making the trip to appear on a special edition of her friend Steve Harvey’s game show Family Feud, but an argument with Rodney throws that appearance into doubt. (OWN Canada)

While Maura (Sasha Alexander) is away at a convention for medical examiners, Jane (Angie Harmon) tries to solve a “perfect murder” with some help from Susie (guest star Tina Huang), as well as a few crime scene dioramas. Celebrity chef Mark McEwan steps in as guest judge in the twohour season finale of this hit reality competitio­n series, in which the victors from previous episodes vie for the ultimate intelligen­ce title.
