WILD ABOUT WALLPAPER

Mixing textures, patterns is key

-

NOMADIC Phillip Jefferies

Phillip Jefferies is a mainstay in the wallpaper business and has been producing quality grasscloth for many years. It’s really the go-to for the best-of-the-best in grasscloth. They recently launched their new collection consisting of this Nomadic print, which is hand-printed by artisans. The tribal and geometric print takes its cue from hand-woven baskets, but there’s a modern spin to it. You could also say it has an almost mid-century style.

ONYX SKYLINE Daniel Heath

Daniel Heath is an award-winning independent wallpaper, textile and surface designer. He is renowned for his illustrative and engaging design, and has done it again with the Onyx Skyline wallpaper series. Launched as a part of the London Design Festival in 2015, you can clearly see the Art Deco influences. I especially love the gold details, which are very on trend for design this year.

CHINESE TOILE Cole and Son

An older print in the archives of Cole and Son has been given new life. Vintage Chinese motifs were very popular in Victorian times and are making a big comeback in interior design. Vignettes of Far Eastern life, in the new updated colours (the charcoal background is my favourite), really lend themselves to fresh, modern interiors, with a nod to traditional.

DUTCH LOVE Ashley Woodson Bailey

A florist turned photographer, turned wallpaper designer, Bailey’s prints are one of a kind and have a quality like no other. With their painting-like quality and vintage feel, these gorgeous photographs made into wallpaper are compelling. The black background makes them stand out and helps make any space a little more inviting.

BIOHILLIA Kit Miles

This delicious and luxe mix of surreal plant life, dragonflies and flora, is a perfect combination for a dining room or any room that needs a tender touch. The look is dramatic, especially set against the grey background. Drawn by hand in the Kit Miles studio, this paper is all about creating a mood.
