TAI CHI — GOOD FOR THE BODY, MIND, SOUL

- Submitted by Taoist Tai Chi™ Regina.

Tai Chi is a gentle set of movements that promotes health and well-being for people of all ages and in all health conditions. The focused moves slowly stretch and turn the spine, massage the muscles and tendons, build strong bones and increase flexibility. The series of movements restores a sense of balance in our bodies and encourages calmness and relaxation. Tai Chi is often referred to as moving meditation. It is low impact exercise that puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels.

Originally practiced as a martial art in China, Tai Chi has been adapted in many forms around the world. The FLK Taoist Tai Chi™ form was developed in Canada by Master Moy Lin Shin, a Taoist monk from China, and specifically focuses on the health benefits. FLK Taoist Tai Chi™ is a volunteer organization with locations across Canada and in over 25 countries.

Classes are held six days a week in both daytime and evening hours at 3411 Pasqua St. Beginners learn the basic concepts and review the 108 moves in the set and then join the Continuing Classes to practice and refine the moves over the years. Beginner Classes are held a number of times throughout the year. Health Recovery classes are also available.
