RCMP arrest Saskatoon jail escapee in B.C. Interior

-

A 34-year-old man who allegedly escaped the Saskatoon provincial jail by climbing over a fence was arrested in British Columbia last week.

In a news release issued on Monday, Saskatoon police announced that RCMP arrested Travis Funk on Friday in Merritt, B.C., in the company of a 24-year-old woman who is alleged to have helped him escape. Both of them are expected to appear in court in Saskatoon “in the next few days,” the release stated.

Two other men, aged 29 and 35, are also charged with being a party to the escape by helping Funk.

Funk allegedly climbed over the fence at the jail and got into a waiting SUV around 2 p.m. on Sept. 24.
