Nice catch, Coop

I’m not sure exactly when it became a thing for celebs to hijack Dull Normals’ weddings and other such events, but now it happens often. Bill Murray does it about once week.

Now it’s Bradley Cooper’s turn. The actor didn’t exactly gatecrash the party when Meaghan Carrigan married Nicholas Barnicle in Washington, D.C., last weekend. But he did catch the bridal bouquet, which confused everyone.

Coop knows the couple a little, but wasn’t actually a guest. Apparently, he just happened to be at Georgetown University on another matter when he ran into the wedding party.

The groom’s dad, broadcaster and sportswriter Mike Barnicle, told an interviewer Monday morning that Brad caught the bouquet.

Cooper had a busy weekend. Saturday night he went backstage to visit Lady Gaga on Saturday Night Live.

He’s 41. Meagan’s 31. Nick’s 32 Hillary Clinton, when asked, said she wanted Meryl Streep to play her in the biopic. (What biopic? No biopic, yet. It’s just one of those questions candidates get asked.)

Hillary’s answer, of course, promptly led to one of those questions Streep gets asked, and she was gracious about it:

“I’m very flattered to hear that,” Meryl told reporters.

“But I’ll have to wait for that role. All her great achievements are ahead of her.”

Like everyone else in Tinseltown pretty much without exception, Streep has already endorsed Hillary.

She’s 67. Clinton turns 69 on Wednesday.
