Solar Opposition Announcement

The house that is divided against itself in one minute can get quickly unified in the next under the threat of a common enemy. It’s not the only way, but it’s the fastest way. If you’re looking for a good enemy, ignorance and intolerance are among the most diabolical. This announcement was brought to you by the solar opposition to Pluto.

ARIES (March 21-April 19).

The dilemma will be whether it is more worthwhile to be a well-rounded person or to focus in on what you do best and do it to the hilt. If you choose the latter, there will be people in your life who will fill in whatever you’re missing.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).

There’s a fixed number of things you can ask before the other person gets tired of answering. Be smart about it. The wrong question could put you in a worse position, whereas the right one will bust open your horizons.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21).

The way it is today is the way it usually is. You’ll give before you get. You’ll pave the relationship road with plenty of goodwill and low expectations of return. And all will work out, as it usually does.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).

To succeed at the aim, it helps to be in love with the goal. And it helps even more to be in love with the process required to get to the goal. If you’re not in love, it’s still possible; it’s just harder.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).

You are great with details, keeping people on track and understanding what needs to be done and the order in which it would be best accomplished. You’ll be paid well for applying these skills.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).

If you thought about how hard it was going to be before you embarked, you wouldn’t have embarked. The seduction of life -- the misinformation, temptation and the like -- can work in your favor.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23).

Your soul will speak to you through your curiosity about a subject. Also, when you are moved by an event or touched by beauty, that’s your soul speaking up.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21).

You’re not sure what to do. There’s no objectively right answer. There’s no map. This is not navigating; it’s way-finding. Go forward with courage, and remember that winners fail a lot more times than losers do.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).

The animal nature is not to be tamed so much as respected. Today such respect may be shown by giving the wild spirit the space it needs. The natural inclination to fight for personal space is something to anticipate.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).

Even for the very astute, appearances can and will deceive. Be careful not to look for the reasons things are so without first verifying whether they are really so.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).

Your dreams, though unrealized, are alive and well and will remain so for as long as you feed them. Seize today’s opportunity to go a little further toward fleshing things out.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).

The impact of good light and temperature can’t be underestimated. To be living comfortably in the sunlight is to be fully alive. And if a friend is near, that completes the joy.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (July 10).

You’ll barely be able to contain your pleasure over the unfolding events of the next five weeks. Go ahead and make the commitment you’ve been pondering. You’re ready! There’s an investment that pays next week. Libra and Gemini adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 40, 12, 22 and 19.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTION:

“I am an Aries, born March 25, 1973. I just recently started dating another Aries, born March 30, 1972. So far, things seem to be going well. We’re both at the same place in life, looking to settle down. Do you see this relationship as having potential for the long haul, or are two Aries too much for each other?”

You two Rams know a good thing when you see it! Neither of you being meeker than the other, you will have the stereotypical head-butting. You’re both built for the battle, but that doesn’t make it any less dangerous to the union. It will be important to realize the difference between playfulness and a more extreme level of struggle that is a detriment to love and trust. In other words, know when to draw the line and be the first to back down if you’re not sure. That said, the Ram-Ram payoff is being with someone you empathetically understand and can therefore easily forgive -- which, of course, is an important ingredient for every long-term relationship. Your moons are sympathetically linked, and you understand and respond to each other’s feelings without a lot of trouble or ego involved in getting at them. Talking things out will be your strong suit. All in all, the feisty, fun, sexy enthusiasm you have as a couple makes this union spectacular.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:

Jessica Simpson was born when the sun and Mercury were both in nurturing Cancer, the sign associated with motherhood. The fact that her moon and Venus are in bright Gemini suggests quick wit and intelligence. The ones who once made fun of Simpson for not knowing what was in a can of tuna eat their words now that she’s a top celebrity brand, and among the first to reach $1 billion in sales at that!
