PARENTS OF HEAT STROKE VICTIM PUSH FOR REVIEW
The parents of a Winnipeg high school teacher who died on a field trip say they want to see changes in how such excursions are conducted on extremely hot days. Darcee Gosselin, 40, collapsed while on a trip in Spruce Woods provincial park in May 2016. The initial diagnosis was a heart attack, but the medical examiner later said she died of heat stroke. The temperature that day was 40C. Vicki and Perry Gosselin say they want the matter reviewed by the education minister and school division.
