Regina Leader-Post

Thanks from N.Y. Cosmos

-

To the citizens of Regina and Saskatchewan:

The New York Cosmos would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the wonderful hospitality that we received last week.

Over the last five years, we’ve had the opportunity to play matches in Havana, Cuba, London, England and Dubai, UAE, just to name a few. Our experience in Regina was top-class all around.

The staff at the Ramada Plaza hotel and at new Mosaic Stadium made us feel right at home. Everywhere we went, we found a warm reception and a kind word.

We’d also like to extend a special thanks to Premier Brad Wall, Minister Ken Cheveldayoff and Mayor Michael Fougere. The new Mosaic Stadium is a truly worldclass venue and something that should bring great pride to the people of Saskatchewan. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to play a match again in your fine venue.

Finally, we’d like to point out the great number of soccer fans that thanked us for visiting Saskatchewan. Fans all over the world are excited to meet professional athletes. What was new for us was being thanked for visiting your city. It’s obvious that you have tremendous pride in your home and you were happy to share it with us. Please just let me say that it was truly our privilege.

One more acknowledgment: None of this would have happened without the great work and commitment of John Graham and the fine folks at On Ice Management.

Thank you again and I hope that we made a few new fans in your wonderful city.

Erik Stover, Chief Operating Officer, New York Cosmos.
