Former goalie joins scouting staff
The Regina Pats have made two additions to their scouting staff.
It was announced Wednesday that former WHL goaltender Tommy Tartaglione has joined the club as a California-based scout while Dean Seymour of Saskatoon will work in Saskatchewan.
Tartaglione played three WHL seasons with the Pats, Vancouver Giants and Prince George Cougars from 2005-06 to 2007-08. He served as Regina’s backup in 2006-07, going 10-5-1 with a 2.88 goals-against average, .899 save percentage and three shutouts. After his junior career ended, he spent two seasons at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary.
Seymour is a former captain at Northern Michigan University who went on to play eight pro seasons in Europe.
The Lumsden Cubs are the Regina Ladies Softball Association’s Division 1 champions.
Lumsden defeated the Sleek 8-6 in Tuesday’s final at Douglas Park. Rachael Huber was the winning pitcher. Mikaila Etheridge homered for the Sleek.
In the Division 2 final, the Vipers edged the Senior Saints 4-3. Chelsie Coxford earned the victory.
Darian Bellegarde struck out 14 in seven innings to lead the Little Black Bear Blues to a 7-3 Western Cycle Rambler Park Fastball League playoff victory over the Piapot Wolfpack on Tuesday.
The Blues tied a best-of-three series at 1-1.
