Police arrest two men after lengthy drug investigation
Regina police have arrested a man from Edmonton and a man from Regina after a months-long drug investigation by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU).
The initial investigation into high-level drug trafficking in Regina began in May. After months of investigating, the CFSEU executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of North Stockton Street on Tuesday. Two men were arrested without incident.
Police entered the residence at approximately 11 p.m.
In addition to arresting the two men, police found cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as a large amount of Canadian money.
There were several drug-trafficking items found in the residence including baggies, score sheets, a money counter, heat sealer and elastic bands for wrapping money.
The two men were subsequently charged.
A 29-year-old man from Regina is charged with possession of methamphetamine and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, two breaches of recognizance and resisting arrest.
A 34-year-old man from Edmonton was charged with possession of methamphetamine and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and breach of a firearms prohibition order.
Both made their first court appearance in Regina provincial court on Wednesday.
