’18 Brier ticket packages go on sale starting Friday

Four types of ticket packages for the 2018 Brier, to be held March 3-11 at the Brandt Centre, are to go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

The packages are as follows: Championsh­ip weekend mini-package ($229): Final seven draws, plus tiebreaker draw if necessary; March 9-11.

Opening weekend mini-package ($119): First five draws; March 3-4.

Three-draw day package ($69): March 5-7.

Thursday day package ($59): Two draws, plus tiebreaker if necessary; March 8.

Full-event packages are also available for $499.

Packages can be purchased at the Brandt Centre box office, by visiting curling.ca/tickets, or by calling 1-855-985-5000.

Selected single-draw tickets will go on sale Nov. 16. The rest, subject to availabili­ty, will go on sale Jan. 12.

Robert Woodroffe-Brown had two goals to lead the Winston Knoll Wolverines to a 5-0 victory over the Campbell Tartans in Regina High Schools Athletic Associatio­n boys tier 1 soccer action Monday.

In another boys tier 1 match, Moris Jovanov scored twice to help the Thom Trojans defeat the Balfour Bears 5-4. Ibrahim Kamara had two goals for Balfour.

In boys tier 2 action, Narayn Mainala scored four goals in the Johnson Wildcats’ 6-3 victory over the Riffel Royals. Also, Kaleb Swann’s two goals helped the Sheldon-Williams Spartans defeat the Luther Lions 5-0.

Russ Nielsen has been named the most valuable player in the Qu’Appelle Valley Baseball League’s Art Berard Division.

Nielsen helped the Trappers win the division title.
