Cosmic Happiness Coupon

Children are frequently upset about not getting what they want because their limited experience on the planet has shown them only a few things to want. They don’t yet know there is so much more available than what’s currently in view. The Libra sun’s first days are an in-store coupon for happiness redeemable in many, many different ways.

One solid person who is on your side is better than a dozen wishy-washy ones. Character matters more than numbers. Do not underestimate the difference that one person can make, especially if that person is you.

ARIES (March 21-April 19).

If you define yourself by your ability to cope with the thorny bits of life, you are likely to feel personally defeated when things go unresolved for too long. It’s just a situation. If you can’t unravel it, eventually it will work itself out.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). GEMINI (May 21-June 21).

You’re friendly, and so people let their guards down around you. For this reason, you’ll learn more than you want to know. But some of this will be useful later.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).

People think that they’d like a wider range of choices, but in fact more options will suck the joy out of decision-making today. To go easy on your audience, present them with between three and five options. You will fear boredom more than usual today, which is why you are loath to do certain very mundane tasks without something good to listen to or someone interesting to join you.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).

Logically you know that you don’t need to impress anyone, and yet there are some people who, as soon as you get around them, seem to make you act in ways you weren’t counting on. Weird -- but human. You gain your own respect when you follow through on the project that’s been on your mind. Your chances of finishing before the end of the month are strong, as long as you do it before you start anything else.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21).

In regards to the current project, chances are you just don’t have time to learn the hard way. Flatten out that learning curve with key tips and tricks from someone who knows the ropes.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).

There was a time in the evolution of the tribes of humanity when strangers were more likely to be killed than welcomed. Approaching strangers is still scary today, but relax: You’ll be warmly received.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).

The cosmic call is for quick reflexes. It will help if you stay aware as you walk through your life. As the saying goes, if you stay ready then you won’t have to get ready.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).

If you’re wondering whether you might have some latent talents that could be put to use, it’s pretty much guaranteed. If you’re wondering if their applications might also be lucrative for you, the answer is yes -- if you put in the time.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).

Because our world is round, we can never arrive at the horizon. We declare and travel toward a distant landmark, but once we come to the marker the horizon will be farther still, unreachable. There’s a strange peace in this today.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Sept. 23).

As you focus on creating fun scenarios and joyful relationships, everything falls into place. Go on and promote yourself. It will pay off in unexpected ways at the end of 2017. Your friend circle grows and this will energize you. Less stress, more harmony and much healing will take place in 2018. Virgo and Sagittarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 40, 22, 28 and 13.

SCHOOL DAYS! THE AQUARIUS STUDENT:

This intellectual air sign is known for conforming to no one’s expectations and yet often somehow finding a way to be praised instead of punished for that. For all its marching to a different drummer, the eleventh sign of the zodiac is actually quite comfortable at school. With a friendly and philanthropic nature, Aquarius students are the glue that holds the student body together. Aquarius students should be encouraged to participate in the arts and other activities that give these unusual thinkers a place to express their uniqueness.

THE PISCES STUDENT:

These dreamers of the zodiac often have an idealized view of what their education will be like. And while real life doesn’t match up to this imagined utopian paradise of learning, Pisces’ impressive powers of adaptation help the fish find a niche in school that is both productive and fun. The fish are real team players. Their compassion and humanity is a godsend to anyone having a tough time academically or socially. Pisces will often befriend those who need a friend without worrying about the qualifiers of popularity. Ultimately, Pisces is a teacher, and the lesson is how to use love and respect to get along in this world.

Bruce Springsteen has stood for the rockand-roll dreams of the working class who affectionately refer to him as “The Boss.” Even while the iconic Jersey rocker is raking in the lifetime achievement awards he continues to be about creating the future of his legacy. Springsteen was born when the sun, moon, Mercury and Neptune were all in Libra, the sign of art, harmony and unity.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2017 Focusing the Cosmic Opposition

There are some people you choose because they fit the situation. They work perfectly in the context in which you need them. Then there are those who are bigger than the context. You would choose them in a hundred contexts over a hundred lifetimes in a hundred worlds. Those are the people to focus on during this Mars and Neptune opposition.

ARIES (March 21-April 19).

Tomorrow is more than just another day. Then again, you could say the same about today and get the whole thing going sooner; now is good. Make a quick plan.

You may not be consistently masterful at the task yet, but you’re certainly more capable than most. Anyway, all that matters is that you make the efforts. You’ll be better for it. Jump in and do what you can.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).

Of course, it can be much harder to do things softly than it is to do them loudly, but all the cool factor will be in small actions, light delivery, delicate handling.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). CANCER (June 22-July 22).

Seize the chance to talk about your plans with someone who can’t help you at all. So perfect! You’ll gain perspective and practice. You’ll home in on what you need. When you meet one who can help, you’ll be ready.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).

Relationships don’t have to be heavy to be good. When you find a carefree friendship that brings laughter to your days, do everything in your power to keep it that way.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).

You’ll be in a beautiful place. Furthermore, it’s a more beautiful place because you see it that way and because you’re in it. Others will enjoy being around your good energy today.

There are some goals that just feel right to you, as if they are a perfect fit. Therefore, whether the risk involved is a mystery or the risk is known will matter to you a lot less than the reward on the other side of it.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23).

You may feel as though you never really finish the thought today, but that’s a good place to be. The conversation will continue. New people will come in and out of it. Trust life’s process.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).

Those who are unwilling to move through unpleasantness will not appreciate pretty worlds and sweet scenarios the way you can, having seen such a wide array of circumstances.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).

The problem at hand is the result of many people individually doing a thing slightly wrong, perhaps because that’s the culture of the moment. “No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible,” Voltaire said.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).

Even though you can be casual when you want to be, you also have plenty in the way of soul. That’s why passionate people are drawn to you -- the type who can really handle the full range of intensity you have to offer.

It’s not that you changed your mind in a day, but the factors that have been adding up over time have finally hit the sum that causes you to take a different course.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Sept. 24).

Your year will bring three spikes in popularity (October, February and July) and accompanying financial boosts with the added attention. An event in December will start a fortunate string of events. Let those with means help you in January; it will take the best efforts of many to get a project off the ground. Aquarius and Scorpio adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 40, 19, 28 and 33.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:

Mars, the warrior planet, and Neptune, king of dreams, pull at each other from across the sky in an opposition that starts the week off on a rather unpredictable and possibly chaotic note. The positive thing about this is that most people get their best work done under slightly chaotic circumstances. Unexpected obstacles make us have to consider new approaches and work differently. Often improvements come out of the shake-up.

Monday continues the challenge with a square of Mercury and Saturn. It’s an emotional cramp that will need to be worked out to happily (or even semi-happily) continue on. Ironing out the sticking points, miscommunications and misalignments between people ultimately improves most situations.

A Jupiter-Uranus opposition Sept. 28 will make it seem as though strange happenings are blocking the path to good fortune (or even just smooth daily life), but those willing to wait it out in as stressfree a manner as possible will soon appreciate an acceptable resolution. Life resumes its flow with a Mercury change at the end of the week.

Tony Award winner and Teen Choice Award nominee Ben Platt has been accused of scene stealing with his standout musical comedy work, and his role in the upcoming “Drunk Parents” promises to build on the trend. The Libra actor capitalizes on the tasteful artistic and social impulses his sign is known for and, as a result, is easily cast alongside such megastars as Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin.
