Royals score late TD, down Tartans

Riley Andrews threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Lalonde with 39 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Riffel Royals a 10-9 victory over the Campbell Tartans in Regina Intercolle­giate Football League action Thursday.

Riffel’s Zachary Arsenault rushed for 86 yards and caught three passes for 77 yards. The Royals’ Josh Girodat made two intercepti­ons.

Campbell’s Matt Rivers threw for 183 yards and rushed for 67. He scored Campbell’s touchdown on a one-yard run.

The Tartans’ Bennett Stusek caught eight passes for 92 yards and returned eight punts for 106 yards. Campbell’s Harrison Lars Hansen added six receptions for 88 yards.

On defence, Campbell’s leaders were Jaxon Ford (eight tackles), Aidan Mann (7.5 tackles, one intercepti­on) and Josh White (6.5 tackles).

Also Thursday, the LeBoldus Golden Suns doubled the Winston Knoll Wolverines 28-14.

Golden Suns quarterbac­k Josh Donnelly rushed for one TD and threw TD passes to Ben Camplin (who had eight receptions for 165 yards) and Dom Dheilly.

Ryker Frank added 10 carries for 121 yards for LeBoldus, which got four tackles, two deflection­s and an intercepti­on from Logan Neumann and two field goals from Adam Probe.

Winston Knoll’s Jordan Hoffart threw for 253 yards, including a TD toss to D’Sean Mimbs.

In another game Thursday, the Miller Marauders defeated the O’Neill Titans 36-7.

Miller’s Luke Hornung threw two TD passes and ran for a oneyard major. Kieran Poissant had Miller’s other two TDs.

Bryce Sich had four catches for 87 yards for Miller, which got two intercepti­ons from Dillon Kiefer, who returned one of his picks for a TD.

Jaxon Rabak scored O’Neill’s touchdown on a 106-yard run.

Mike Ratcliffe had five tackles and an intercepti­on for the Titans.
