The return of Darian Durant to Regina was the focal point of Friday’s CFL game at Mosaic Stadium but the sellout crowd got some additional entertainment value with the announcement of Dierks Bentley as the final headliner for Country Thunder Saskatchewan 2018.

The news was delivered on the huge video scoreboard, revealing Bentley would join Big & Rich (Thursday), Chris Young (Saturday) and Luke Bryan (Sunday) as the festival headliners.

Bentley is a frequent visitor to the Regina area, having performed at the Craven Country Jamboree, the Brandt Centre and the Queen City Ex in the past 10 years. Bentley’s last appearance at the festival was in 2014. He also played the event in 2008.

One of the top acts in country music and a dynamic performer, the 41-year-old Bentley has collected 15 No. 1 singles, including Somewhere On A Beach, Drunk On A Plane, Say You Do, Every Mile A Memory and Come A Little Closer.

Friday’s announcement came on the heels of a press conference on Wednesday where organizers unveiled a major portion of its main stage lineup. In addition to the headliners, the festival will also feature Dean Brody, Jess Moskaluke, Clay Walker, the Hunter Brothers, Lindsay Ell, LANco and Roots & Boots (comprised of Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye).

Organizers, who also plan to announce additional artists in the coming weeks, also revealed a new wrinkle for its main stage schedule. For the first time, artists will take to the main stage on Thursday night, giving the festival four nights of mainstage performances.

Big & Rich, who performed at the festival in 2006, 2007 and 2011, will be the Thursday night headliners with Walker and Williams & Ree also performing that night.

Full event general admission tickets are available online at countrythunder.com/sk-ticketinfo for $150. Platinum reserved seating and reserved seating are also available.
