Pat Canadians, Hounds tied for first place

The Notre Dame Hounds edged the visiting Regina Pat Canadians 3-2 in a showdown of the Saskatchew­an Midget AAA Hockey League’s top two teams Wednesday.

Notre Dame got goals from Jake Dale, Kade Nolan and Luke Mylymok. Jack Glen and Chase Nameth replied for Regina.

The Hounds (26-1-0-1) and Pat Canadians (25-4-2-1) are tied for first place with 53 points, although Notre Dame has four games in hand.

Notre Dame’s only loss to date was on Oct. 24, when the Pat Canadians won 1-0 at Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox.

The Regina Rebels edged Notre

Dame 2-1 in Saskatchew­an Female Midget AAA Hockey League action Wednesday at the Co-operators Centre.

Regina’s Lauren Focht snapped a 1-1 tie midway through the third period. Tavia Terry also scored for Regina. Abbey Nimegeers answered for Notre Dame.

the Estevan Bruins a 3-2 SJHL victory over the visiting Kindersley Klippers on Wednesday.

Mattea Hamilton scored 32 points

to lead the Sheldon-Williams Spartans to a 67-63 victory over the Winston Knoll Wolverines in Regina Intercolle­giate Basketball League senior girls action Wednesday.
