Telemiracle announces performers, new look
SASKATOON A modern look for Telemiracle Teddy and some new special guests will be front and centre at the iconic annual Saskatchewan fundraiser next month.
Telemiracle Teddy is trading the familiar red T-shirt he’s been sporting since 1994 for a new look. After 20 years, he’ll now wear a purple shirt with a new logo to stay up to date with the fundraiser’s fresh look. New additions to the talent roster this year include rising country star Don Amero, classic rockers The Stampeders and TSN personality and former Saskatchewan Roughrider Glen Suitor.
Telemiracle 42 takes place in Regina March 3 to 4 and is free to attend. Organizers announced show details, including returning and new performers, on Friday. The 20-hour broadcast features 60 performances by talent from across the province.
The Hunter Brothers, Jess Moskaluke, Saskatchewan Express and Big Daddy Tazz are also back, as are regulars like Chris Henderson, Brad Johner & The Johner Boys, Beverley Mahood, Jeffery Straker and Jill Straker.
The event is launching a new online pre-show: Countdown to Telemiracle. It will start two and a half hours prior to the main broadcast and feature more Saskatchewan performers.
Nutrien is matching donations raised by Saskatchewan talent up to $150,000.
Telemiracle, which calls itself “Saskatchewan’s Charity,” contributes millions of dollars through the Kinsmen Foundation to people and groups in the province that need help with medical expenses and equipment. The 2017 event in Saskatoon raised more than $5 million.
