Mansion featured in reality TV series is available to rent by the night

The ABC reality series The Bachelor would be nothing if not for certain components: its TV-ready singles, scandalous goings-on, near-constant inebriation and the Spanish-style mansion where all the drama goes down.

With The Bachelor’s 22nd season underway, trulia.com dug up some facts about the house, officially known as Villa De La Vina and belonging to Marshall Haraden and his family, who clear out a few times a year during filming.

The property in Agoura Hills, Calif., is set on 9.3 acres (3.8 hectares) of land with 7,500 square feet of living space — including six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a guest house and an infinity pool with waterfalls. Select architectural goodies include hand-carved Cantera stone fireplaces, imported fountains and electronic skylights.

During filming, though, the show’s production team gives it a slinkier look with dark paint and more contemporary furnishings. The Bachelor and its spinoff The Bachelorette have filmed at Villa De La Vina for 11 seasons; Haraden briefly put the estate on the market for US$8.75 million in 2008.

Incidentally, if you’ve ever longed to live it up like a Bachelor or Bachelorette, you’re in luck: The Villa De La Vina rents for $2,100 per night, $13,225 per week or $35,225 a month.

Near-constant inebriation, however, is not included.

Inside Villa De La Vina, there are other rooms that Bachelor viewers probably might not recognize, such as the dining room.

Twice a year, the furniture gets moved out of the home and all of the Bachelor furniture gets brought in and styled.
