SATURDAY, MARCH 10, 2018 Mercury and Saturn Square

The square of Mercury and Saturn brings resistance to change. Then again, change never did care much about resistors. And given the recent status update of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, something’s got to give. Standing in the way of that is not only futile; it’s dangerous. Stay flexible. Before you engage in conflict, ask: Is it worth it? ARIES (March 21-April 19).

The gurus suggest we drop all this suffering, but their methods are often confounding. And besides, there are little bits of it that might have something to teach (which is probably what’s making it so hard to let go). TAURUS (April 20-May 20). No one grows in one direction. The tree goes high; the roots go low; the limbs go wide. You’re about to hit a breakthrough in one area of your life, and other parts of your life can’t help but be affected. GEMINI (May 21-June 21). This is a labor of love. You’ll be better off going with the assumption that you’re not going be rewarded -- that recognition won’t come and neither will money. That way, anything good that happens from this will be a lovely bonus. CANCER (June 22-July 22).

Today you’re a bit like a shop owner who falls in love with inventory and wants to hang on to the best stuff even though it’s marked to sell. Don’t worry: There’s much more where this came from. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). No one’s opinion of you will matter today, not even your own. So don’t worry what anyone thinks. Instead, focus on the energizing activities and people, while avoiding the drains. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).

Dependencies come in different shades. It can be difficult to tell the difference between the toxic kind and the kind that helps you have a good life. You judge it for you, and others LIBRA will judge (Sept. their 23-Oct. own 23). scenes.

This is like a game of pin the tail on the donkey; you’re trying to complete a picture that would be pretty simple to nail down were you not blindfolded SCORPIO and (Oct. dizzy. 24-Nov. 21).

Though your beliefs you just wouldn’t because totally something toss interesting came along, you will find yourself cobbling together some new theories based on new information that has come to light. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).

A response is different from a reaction. Reactions are involuntary, and responses are thoughtful -some more so than others. Take your time in answering. You have all the time you need for this one. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).

It’s not just that you’re doing something right. You’re doing most of the things right, and that’s what’s behind today’s excellent push of progress. So don’t credit luck. This is about you! AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).

Which is the thing to do: hop to attention and try to fix it, or make a joke and shrug it off? This is really a matter of style. Just know that whatever you choose, you’ll be setting up an expectation for the future. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Be careful not to volunteer without thinking. Take a day before responding. Do some calculations on the matter. Will you get a return on your investment? There’s a lot that would be fun to do, but will it serve your bottom line? TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (March 10). People will work extra hard to make you smile. The next 10 weeks bring the completion of a project, followed by a new direction for your main work. Leisure isn’t what’s going to fulfill you, unless it involves hitting challenging goals and maybe some competition, too. You’ll bring a vision into reality in August. Virgo and Scorpio adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 4, 22, 2 and 15. ASTROLOGICAL QUESTION:

“My marriage of 20 years has ended. My children are grown, and my husband informed me after the last one left the house that he has not been in love with me for a long time. He’s had a girlfriend on the side for the last five years! Naturally, I’m crushed. Financially I think things will be fine. I’ll have a settlement, and I may go back to work, too. But I’m wondering if you see a relationship on the horizon for me. There’s no one currently, but will I ever love and be loved again? I’m a Sagittarius.”

Yes, but fall into a deeper love with yourself first or you’ll be missing out. Your No. 1 priority should be to reconnect with the interests, passions and goals that make you feel most alive. It’s going to take several months to get your energy into an adventurous place, but try to have some fun. Keep putting yourself in situations that push you toward self-discovery. Love will be a natural outgrowth when you’re busy on your own personal journey. A career move in June will help you shake off your blues and move on with life. I wouldn’t recommend anything more than casual dating for an entire year from your divorce date. In five years you’ll look back on this period as a fortuitous shift. CELEBRITY PROFILES:

Earlier this year, Carrie Underwood dropped her first pop release, “The Champion,” a duet with Ludacris. The accomplished country music superstar, model and mom was born when the sun and Mercury were in Pisces, indicating there is a strong intuitive guidance within her. Venus and Mars in Aries bring the endless energy necessary to command her many life roles.

SUNDAY, MARCH 11, 2018 Mars, Uranus and Revolution

The oppressed were silent because they knew that if they spoke, they would be punished or ignored -- but no longer. They are now raising their voices to a new culture that wants to know and wants to help. The trine of Mars and Uranus bodes well for the fight, the revolution that leads to freedom, the lofty target struck right in the bull’s-eye. ARIES (March 21-April 19). The feeling behind things matters more than a little. You have nourished and helped others toward a healthier body, and now you’ll speak to the realm of emotional and spiritual fitness. TAURUS (April 20-May 20).

Though it may be true that the most powerful way to speak is with brevity, it would be wrong to assume that it’s always in a person’s best interest to take the obvious power position. GEMINI (May 21-June 21). One supermodel asks another, “What’s the point of being beautiful if you don’t feel beautiful?” You’ll do the things that make your heart sing, and you’ll radiate so much more than a particular arrangement of features ever could. CANCER (June 22-July 22).

Your energy and focus go into a fascinating task -- work that seduces you into such a state of flow that you’re unlikely to be aware of anything outside of it. The reactions of others, if you notice them at all, will mean nothing to you. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You’re in the loop. You understand dynamics at play that others don’t. It would take you a long time to explain all you’ve figured out by being involved and paying attention along the way. You’ve earned this. Enjoy your status. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You’ll find yourself among people who are competitive and noncollaborative. Relax and become extremely aware of your surroundings and you’ll still be able to find out everything you need to know. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23).

Even the most spiritually attuned earthling must function in the material and social world, which adheres to practical rules. You’ve a bird’s-eye perspective today, though you’ll be tending to things on the ground.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You’d love to know what’s coming up. Your best way to do this is to choose something and then make sure it happens. Instead of staring into an ethereal mist to see the future, you get busy creating a destiny worthy of you. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).

Capturing the attention of others is rather easy for you, but leading it well is the real challenge. Put some thought into what you would like people to do, how you would prefer them to act and what your agenda is. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).

It’s all happening now. This is true even when it feels as if the day is moving at a snail’s pace and nothing is getting accomplished. Ten minutes makes the difference. Press on through this 10 minutes and then the next. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). It’s said that every artist paints himself into his work, though this is true for more than painters. We can’t help but execute the tasks of life by the dictates of our own personality, as demonstrated by your work today. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).

It wasn’t long ago that you hoped against hope to be the person you are today and have the things you have now. Remembering this will make you both happy and hopeful. TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (March 11). You do not set out to be an inspiration to others. You are only trying to solve a problem. You solve it, and you wind up expanding your awareness and then also your realm of influence. Don’t be afraid to ask for money. Your profits will allow you to do greater good for yourself, your loved ones and your community. Virgo and Scorpio adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 33, 2, 29 and 31. FORECAST FOR THE WEEK

AHEAD: The week begins with an unusual and favorable arrangement of Mars and Uranus. Mars is the warrior planet and currently weaponized in the fiery realm of Sagittarius. This is the sign of the archer and symbolized by an arrow pointed to the sky. The symbolic encouragement isn’t hard to extrapolate here. Place your target high. Shoot for the stars and be happy if you land on the moon or even just pierce a cloud or two. It’s better than aiming too low.

As for the part of Uranus, this is where things get interesting. Uranus is the sign of surprises, rebellions and revolutions. Currently in Aries, Uranus causes excitement that is touched with immature impulse. It would be a sign of trouble and a call for caution were this not such an auspicious arrangement of planets. Instead, the pure side of childishness will be highlighted. What comes out of “the mouths of babes” can be honest and wise -an unvarnished observation or an unpretentious declaration. There is real luck here. Accept it; see it; act on it.

The new moon in Pisces on St. Patrick’s Day is an omen for spiritual evolution. Bonus: Starting new doesn’t necessarily mean starting over. CELEBRITY PROFILES:

Brothers Benji and Joel Madden turned the hard knocks and family pain of their youth into the music that ultimately liberated them from the financial and emotional hardship of their past. The creativity and soul that come from having natal sun and Mars in Pisces mixes well with the fiery theatricality that comes from having a Leo moon. Their having Venus in Aquarius shows a strong impetus to pay it forward.
