-

A 16-year-old boy is facing charges and police are looking for a second male after two houses in the North Central neighbourhood were shot at on the weekend.

According to the Regina Police Service, the shootings happened just minutes apart Sunday, leading police to believe they were connected.

Police responded to the 1500 block of Cameron Street and the 1300 block of Athol Street at about 3:30 a.m. Police said two homes were struck by small-calibre bullets.

No one was physically injured. Attending officers also spotted damage to a number of vehicles.

Further investigation led to the identification of two potential suspects, one of whom was arrested a short time later.

The other was still at large as of late Monday afternoon.

The 16-year-old male — who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act — was to appear in court Monday, facing a range of charges, including two of discharging a firearm, two of mischief under $5,000, and one each of possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace and breach of undertaking.
