Capitals, Chiefs tied in PJHL final

The Extreme Hockey Regina Capitals are to play host to the Delisle Chiefs on Tuesday in Game 3 of the Prairie Junior Hockey League’s championsh­ip series.

Faceoff is set for 7:45 p.m., at the Al Ritchie Memorial Centre.

The Capitals tied the best-ofseven series at 1-1 on Saturday by winning 5-2 at the Delisle Arena.

Brayden Cock will and Braydon Delorme each had two goals for the Capitals, who got one goal and two assists from Fraiser Belanger. Anthony Radke and Blake Berschimin­sky replied for Delisle.

On Friday, the Chiefs had won 4-1 in Regina, with Benson Thorpe registerin­g three goals and one assist. Radke completed the scoring for Delisle. Taylor Kreutzer replied for the Capitals.

The Estevan Bruins carry a 2-0 series lead into Monday ’s SJHL playoff game against the visiting Battleford­s North Stars.

Game 3 is set for 7:30 p.m., at Affinity Place — where Game 4 of a best-of-seven semifinal is to be played Tuesday at 7:30.

Estevan won 5-3 in North Battleford on Friday and 7-2 the following evening. Arthur Miller and Jake Fletcher each had two goals for Estevan in Game 1. The Regina-born Miller added two goals Saturday, when Tanner Manz had a hat trick.

In the other semifinal, the Nipawin Hawks have a 2-0 lead over the Humboldt Broncos. The series moves to Humboldt for games Tuesday and Wednesday. Two goals by Divine Ebesoh led Cameroon to a 3-1 victory over Poland in WCP Cup men’s Group B soccer action Saturday.

In an under-17 boys match, Nick Fetsch had three goals to pace Canada in its 4-1 victory over Bangladesh.
