U.S. market attractive for self-publishing authors

- WILLIAM ALLAN

“How to Self Publish Inexpensive Books and Ebooks: U.S. Edition is a very thorough guide which will walk you through the process carefully, step by step,” says a five-star review of my book by Emily-Jane Hills Orford for Readers’ Favorite.

“From editing, to layout and cover design, to the actual decision of whom to trust, and then the final process of marketing and getting the book recognized by readers everywhere, this author has answered all of your questions and more.”

The review concludes: “A very useful guide and a must-have for anyone considering the selfpublishing book and ebook process.”

I self-published the Canadian edition of this book and it was featured in Read My Book on Dec. 16, 2016. It is available for purchase at www. howtoselfpublish.ca for $6.50 ($10 with shipping).

The U.S. Edition has several advantages for authors the Canadian edition does not.

It lists 12 reasons why you should self-publish your book, and tells you where you can get your book published and distributed online for US$245.

An expanded marketing chapter offers 25 ways to market your book.

It lists three publishers offering extensive marketing in every proposal they give to authors.

It fully updates the U.S. publisher listings, deleting those which have closed and adding several new entries.

Despite the poor value of the Canadian dollar, Canadians can get great deals publishing their books in the U.S. For cheaper shipping rates, ask your printer to use the U.S. Postal Service.

There are no guarantees in the book publishing industry today. I cannot and will not guarantee your book will sell thousands of copies.

What I can guarantee, if you follow the ideas in this book, is that you will enter the market with a book that has all the prerequisites for success. Its success depends on your marketing efforts and, truthfully, some luck.

But you will be preparing to market a book people will want to read rather than a book they will be sorry they purchased.

The U.S. Edition is available on Amazon.
