McLoughlin joins Rams’ coaching staff

Former CFL kicker Mark McLoughlin has joined the University of Regina Rams as a special teams assistant coach.

McLoughlin spent most of his 17year CFL career with the Calgary Stampeders. With 2,996 points, he is third on the league’s all-time list.

The Bulyea Rustlers rallied in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat the Alpha Constructi­on Hawks 2-1 in Western Cycle Rambler Park Fastball League action Tuesday.

The Hawks scored the game’s first run in the top of the sixth. With two outs in the bottom of the inning, Josh Jordan singled, stole second base, and then scored on an RBI double by Peter Hill. Hill then scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

Rustlers starter Greg Hill struck out 11 in five innings. Michael Jordan pitched the final inning for the Rustlers and got the win. Hawks pitcher Les George struck out 15 in six innings.

In Tuesday ’s other game at Rambler Park, the Moose Jaw Canadians got home runs from Dane Roy, Dean Holoien and Kent Barber in an 8-1 victory over the Regina Gold. Chelsie Coxford was the winning pitcher as the Vipers edged the Lumsden under-19s 5-4 in Regina Ladies Softball Associatio­n action Tuesday.

In Tuesday’s other games at Douglas Park, it was: Falcons 14, Storm 3; Pasqua 22, Wicked Wild 7; Rampage 9, Raiders 7; and, Falcons 17, Wicked Wild 2.
