The Queen City Brass Band presents Sounds of Spring on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Knox-Metropolit­an United Church, 2340 Victoria Ave. General admission is $15 for students, $10 for children under 12. Free refreshmen­ts.

The Pearls, a club for single, separated, divorced or widowed women of any age to meet and socialize, holds its next gathering Tuesday. The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month, either for lunch or dinner. For more informatio­n, please call 306-545-8512.

A fundraiser will be held at the Core Ritchie Centre, 445 14th Ave., on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. to support Chili For Children. There will be entertainm­ent for children, raffles, an art sale and lunch.

Nature Regina is taking a field trip out to Buffalo Pound Provincial Park, with a focus on birds, flowers and butterflie­s on Saturday, led by Dale Hjertaas. Meet at the Royal Saskatchew­an Museum, corner of Albert Street and College Avenue, at 8 a.m. or at the Buffalo Pound park entry gate at 8:50 a.m. Bring water, lunch and walking shoes. The group will walk up White-Track Coulee. Return time is estimated between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per vehicle for gas, and $10 per car for park entry. If you have a seasonal pass for the park, please bring it. Those 65 and over get into the park for free.

Tickets are now on sale for a fundraiser by The Aloha Project, a nonprofit organizati­on that builds community food security. It’s hosting a Hawaiian-themed luau/ solstice party on June 23. Starting at 1 p.m., there will be family-friendly games, crafts, music and art projects. Supper is at 7 p.m. with a roasted whole pig and other foods from the farm being featured. There is also a vegetarian option. The evening includes a nature walk, bonfires, a fire dance by Tribal Vibes and music. People can camp overnight for no additional charge. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, with those 14 years old and under free. A carpooling discount (the advance price) for those with all seatbelts occupied. All the proceeds will go to buy fencing materials, animals, fruit trees, and other things required to make the home farm into an excellent demonstrat­ion site and to run the project effectivel­y.
