RedSox at home to Melville on Saturday

The Regina Red Sox are to play host to the Melville Millionair­es in Western Major Baseball League action Saturday (7:05 p.m., Currie Field).

Regina will then visit the Moose Jaw Miller Express on Sunday (2:05 p.m., Ross Wells Park).

The Red Sox were to play host to the Yorkton Cardinals on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Red Sox won 5-1 in Moose Jaw.

Joe Poitras homered to help the Piapot Wolfpack defeat the Muskowekwa­n Pride 13-1 in Western Cycle Rambler Park Fastball League action Wednesday. Vance Thompson was the winning pitcher.

In Wednesday’s other game at Rambler Park, Tony Cappo got the win as Best Buds defeated the Piapot Padres 9-2.

The Rampage swept a doublehead­er in the Regina Ladies Softball Associatio­n on Wednesday, posting victories over the Fusion (8-5) and Diamondbac­ks (16-11).

The Rampage got homers from Carla Schatz (versus the Fusion) and Brittany Nabholz (against the Diamondbac­ks).

Also on Wednesday at Douglas Park, Elite Auto Body got two triples from Shayla Riche in an 18-2 victory over Piapot, and the Bomb Squad defeated Dakota Winyan 7-0.

The Royal Regina Golf Club defeated the Murray Golf Course 103.586.5 in Regina and Area Match Play League action Wednesday.

Victorious golfers from the Royal Regina were Shawn McNall, Larry Wagman, Dale Eiswerth, Randy Hass, Rod Stice and Rick Fesciuc. Ov Bourassa, Don Tomkins and Rob Pelletier posted wins for the Murray. Evan Lang (Murray) and Rick Fries (Royal Regina) played to a draw.
