Before glasses, the reading stone was invented -- a piece of polished quartz, flat on one side, that monks held over texts to make them easier to read by visually enlarging them. Mercury’s opposition to Saturn urges us to take the technology that’s helping us to a more personal level today. Bring the glass from the page to your face, so to speak.

ARIES (March 21-April 19).

“It gets easier,” they say. That’s the shorthand version. The real truth is that “it” stays about the same and you don’t. You get better and stronger and more creative and faster until “it” seems like child’s play.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).
