SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 2018 Gemini Solar Cycle Check-in

Today’s discussions about what we wish we could do, what there is to do and what’s possible to do at this point in the Gemini solar cycle will help sort out a new direction. Much of what we talk about will never happen, but it’s important to discuss it anyway. It helps us be confident in the plan of action we eventually settle ARIES on. (March 21-April 19).

Like the new a hot heights air balloon, with a combination you’ll reach of release wind, a fire sandbag and the or two. willingness The more to baggage you’ll go. you get rid of, the higher TAURUS (April 20-May 20). It won’t be important to agree with your partner on every little thing if the big things are fairly in line. The question is, can you let the small stuff go without micromanagement? GEMINI (May 21-June 21).

Acting from a primal place, insecure people will try and weed out the competition through various means, such as exclusion, gossiping and aggression. The “kill ‘em with kindness” approach will be most effective. CANCER (June 22-July 22). Are your expectations unreasonable? It really doesn’t matter. There’s what is; then there’s what isn’t. It’s only two categories. Hold your expectations up to what’s happening. Anything that’s not a match needs to be adjusted. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You may feel as though you’re hanging on to an arrangement for only one reason, or until one outcome makes it all worthwhile. There are other situations out there that would give you fuller satisfaction. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). The last step of a project is to properly document it. Take this seriously. It would be bad to skip it. When you document something well, later it could serve as proof, entertainment, validation and more. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). The random events mean nothing until you spot the pattern. But once you see the pattern, it changes everything. The pattern becomes a map, and you can see exactly where the relationship is going. SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21).

Well-meaning loved ones may place limits on you. They’re afraid of what will happen when you change and grow. Don’t withstand these subtle restrictions. Call out the behavior while it’s still of minor consequence. 21). SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec.

A name keeps coming up in conversation, an indication that someone has nestled into your thoughts, whether or not that was your desire. The conversation can’t help but follow your thought stream. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).

There’s a dynamic of mild jealousy playing out --harmless, flattering, but still in need of due process. Don’t ignore this! Whether you’re the one experiencing the emotion or you’re the recipient of it, work through the feelings. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).

The morality of today’s options will be black and white. With such an obvious right and wrong, the way of good character won’t be hard to find. However, many value personality over character -- a rating system to be resisted. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).

There’s a lot of different advice out there, but the best advice will come from an internal source. It’s a message from your heart to your head. The only thing keeping you from following it is fear. Summon your courage. TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (June 16). It’s the ones who don’t seek validation who tend to get it. The principle works in reverse, too. This year you don’t seek attention, approval, respect, affection or remuneration -- and yet you get all of it. August brings a notable award. Financial highs are July, January and February. Vows and deals go down in October. Virgo and Sagittarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 3, 33, 28 and 17.

MERCURY AND SATURN OPPOSITION, IN-DEPTH: Age is relative. There are times that even children feel weary carrying around the weight of the world. And times when the giggles and springy steps of seniors make them seem much younger than their Earth years.

Here’s something to remember as Mercury, the communication planet, is pulling across the sky from Saturn, the planet of time and its lessons: Regardless of your age, you are ancient. You were born with the DNA imprint of every generation of the human family before you -- a map of millions of years inside each one of the trillions of cells that make up your body. And even though you are ancient, you still manage to come up with billions of brand-new, one-of-akind cells per day. So regardless of your age, you are newborn. And in addition to being newborn, you’re also an expert at commingling the forces of “old” and “new” into your particular kind of living art form. So as you do the work that is living, do so in full knowledge that you can choose your age and approach to it, instead of settling for what the calendar tells you. CELEBRITY PROFILES:

Apache hero Geronimo was among the greatest Native American military warriors and leaders. His adaptable Gemini sun was aptly positioned by a Sagittarius moon, the symbol for which is the bow and arrow. The words he uttered on his deathbed were representative of Mars in Cancer, the sign of home. “I should never have surrendered. I should have fought until I was the last man alive.”

SUNDAY, JUNE 17, 2018 Lionhearted Father’s Day

The father of one’s youth may not be the father of one’s adolescence or adult life, as relationships change through the year. This Father’s Day, the moon is in Leo, the sign of children. A return to early family dynamics is to be expected. Leo also rules the heart. Gestures of love (and what’s written in cards) will count for far more than gifts. ARIES (March 21-April 19). Your purpose needn’t be lofty to be great. To grow something or someone, to get along, to give smiles -- these are purposes that will make a better world. TAURUS (April 20-May 20).

Share your vision of the future and you’ll inspire others. Your loved ones don’t need to be managed so much as led. They will do what is appropriate, useful and honorable, as long as they can see where it’s all headed. GEMINI (May 21-June 21).

You’re a leader and a nurturer. Yet when it comes to relationships, the most helpful way will be to see people the way they are now, not where you think they will be later. Because now is where the love is. CANCER (June 22-July 22). There are so many kinds of intelligence, and success in any given situation will depend on a match of the particular sort of intelligence most relevant to the problem at hand. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Beauty loses its power when it becomes too familiar. Be strategic in your placement of beautiful things and in your embodiment of beauty. Surprise is an essential element. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). A prescient image will pop to mind. How do you know the difference between psychic vision and just plain making stuff up? Indeed, these two states are closely linked and sometimes overlapping.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). The celebrity success secret for working crowds and groups is to keep moving -- always keep moving. This will apply to you today as you spread goodwill one short interaction at a time. SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). The lesson is lessened when everything goes correctly. Getting it right the first time is something of a robbery. What is there that you can learn from? SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).

Today’s formula will be bittersweet. Recognize a bad choice; make a better one. Then give yourself credit for the correction. That last step will be key. Don’t forget that one! CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).

Those who live in humid, verdant places know that often the worst bug bites come from the bugs that are invisible to the eye. No matter where you live, this is a time to take precautions against invisible menaces. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).

You give and they appreciate, so you give more, and they appreciate more. This is the cycle of your increasing power -- and also your increasing responsibility. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).

Does it really matter how they see you? Even if it does, your intention matters more. And your intention is for fun and celebration of humanity. You’re truly on the lighter side of things today. TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (June 17).

You’re a giver. Lavishing another person with attention fulfills you, but it’s not so easy for you to accept heaps of love. You’ll get plenty of practice with that this year, and you’ll get better at it. A contract favors you in October. Practical relationships become emotional and magical, fortifying you in new ways. Libra and Sagittarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 20, 33, 38 and 41. FORECAST FOR THE WEEK

AHEAD: Happy summer solstice! On June 21, the longest day of the year, people will be gathering around monuments such as Fajada Butte in New Mexico, Stonehenge in England and Carhenge in Nebraska (which is quite like Stonehenge, just not so old and made out of cars) to celebrate the sun’s entrance into Cancer. In many of these places, the sun will align with a special feature of the monument, shining through a keystone or other framing, making it seem as if, for a brief moment, we have captured the sun -- that it is there to be worshipped and adored by us -- before it continues its chariot ride through the seasons.

Though the solstice will be the most celebrated cosmic feature of the week, it will be precluded by another significant movement. Neptune will go retrograde Monday, beginning several months of introspection and retrospection on the subject of our dreams and fantasies -- where they came from, how they are helping us (or hurting us, as the case may be) and whether there’s anything to be done about making adjustments for a happier, more fulfilling future. CELEBRITY PROFILES: Barry Manilow, who was born when Venus and Pluto were in entertaining Leo, says: “My passion for music has obliterated everything in its path for my entire life. Whenever there was a choice between music and anything else, music won hands down every time. No one person or material thing could ever come close to the feeling I get when the music is right.”
