Former Pat Bradley signs with Marlies

-

Former Regina Pats centre Matt Bradley has signed a one-year contract with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Bradley inked the deal shortly after his final junior season ended with the Pats, who lost in the Memorial Cup final on May 27. The Marlies, whose roster includes former Pats captain Adam Brooks, finally announced the contract on Monday — four days after capturing the Calder Cup title.

The Marlies are a farm team of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Bradley set career highs this season when he recorded 37 goals and 79 points in 72 games with the Pats, who acquired him last summer from the Medicine Hat Tigers. He was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens, who elected not to sign him. Bradley became a free agent and attended an NHL rookie camp last fall with the Minnesota Wild.

The native of Surrey, B.C., was also named the humanitarian of the year in the WHL’s Eastern Conference this past season.
