We say: Our tester loved the feel of this light cream. It went on smoothly and absorbed right away. She also loved the idea that it was a one stop-moisturizing product — nixing the need for serums and other lotions. It even worked great on the sensitive eye area.

BEAUTY COUNTER Color Intense Lipstick

Theysay: The California-based non-toxic makeup, hair, baby and skin care line gets into the lip game with this creamy lipstick formula that is rich in colour and delivers a very “luxe,” satin finish.

We say: Our tester tried the beige/pink colour that is called Backstage. Overall, she was happy with the coverage and the way the lipstick felt. It wasn’t heavy or too dry. The packaging is sleek and very classy in a combination matte and satin black. One downside though is she could have lived without the peppermint oil infusion. Tingly lips were too reminiscent of those dreadful lip plumpers from a decade or so ago. But, if you’re a fan of peppermint and a pretty kiss of colour, then these lipsticks will be a perfect fit.

SUSANNE KAUFMANN Day Cream Line T

Theysay: A natural face cream enriched with an herbal complex of camomile, sage, St. John’s Wort flowers and rosehip oil to protect and nourish. Suitable for dry and sensitive skin, this moisturizer is billed as “ideal as a base for makeup.”

We say: Our tester fell fast and hard for this face cream. All it took was one use to notice a difference in the hydration levels of her skin. The cream has a light scent and absorbs well into the skin. Makeup indeed seemed to apply smoother, but it was the moisturizer’s performance throughout the day that had us hooked. It kept skin looking hydrated and less oily.
