Pats’ Community Foundation donates $100K to charities

-

The newly formed Regina Pats Community Foundation announced its first ever donations on Wednesday.

The RPCF is contributing $100,000 to a pair of charitable organizations from funds raised through 50/50 sales at the 2018 Memorial Cup in Regina.

They’re giving $50,000 to KidSport and $50,000 to the Soldier On program.

“KidSport and Soldier On are important charities that engage kids in sports and help current and retired military members deal with physical and mental injuries as a result of their service to our country,” RPCF chair Dion Tchorzewski says in a media release.

The Pats foundation is an initiative of Queen City Sports and Entertainment Group, the team’s owner. The goal is to support Regina’s youth by targeting health, wellness, education and sport.

Each of those components will serve as a focal point for future donations.

The RPCF also revealed on Wednesday that there are two unclaimed 50/50 prizes from the Memorial Cup worth $30,455 (Ticket no. A102720) and $13,788 (C565821). Winners can claim their prize by presenting their winning ticket at the Pats office.
