Red Sox welcome Lethbridge to town

The Regina Red Sox are preparing for back-to-back Western Major Baseball League home games against the Lethbridge Bulls Friday and Saturday, 7:05 p.m., at Currie Field.

The Red Sox carry an 18-7 record into Friday’s game after defeating the visiting Swift Current 57s 9-0 on Wednesday.

Winning pitcher Kyle Wilson pitched a complete-game one-hitter, allowing two walks and striking out seven. Wilson has a 3-1 record with a 1.87 earned-run average.

Regina’s Erik Crossman (three hits, one RBI) and Riley Hickerson (two hits, two RBI) led the way.

Jason Kiel had two homers

to power the Earl Grey Rockets to a 12-2 win over the Muskowekwan Pride in Western Cycle Rambler Park Fastball League action Tuesday. Justin Sievert homered for Earl Grey.

Also on Tuesday, it was: Rampage 10, Piapot Padres 5; Moose Jaw Giants 4, Standing Buffalo Dakotas 3; Moose Jaw Canadians 5, Alpha Construction Hawks 3.

On Wednesday at Rambler Park, Tony Cappo pitched a seveninning, complete-game shutout, striking out 15, as Best Buds defeated Silver Screen Sportswear 3-0. Al Muhle, the losing pitcher, struck out eight in six innings.

Meanwhile, the Little Black Bear Blues defeated the Piapot Wolfpack 6-2. J.R. Wesaquate homered in support of winning pitcher Darian Bellegarde, who struck out 11.

The Thunder’s Courtney Probst hit

a grand-slam homer Tuesday in a 19-2 Regina Ladies Softball Association victory over Piapot.

Also on Tuesday it was: Lumsden Under-21s 8, Kaos 7; Iskotew 7, Elite Auto Body 5; Bomb Squad 13, Iskotew 11; Falcons 15, Pasqua 14.

On Wednesday, winning pitcher Leslie Miller homered for the Sleek in its 11-3 victory over Lumsden.

In other games, it was: Kaos 8, Wheat Country Extreme 3; Vipers 14, Ochapowace 0; Diamondbacks 8, Piapot 1; Falcons 15, Storm 9.

Two Regina Rugby Union senior

men’s 15s matches were held Wednesday at Regina Rugby Park.

The Regina Highlanders defeated the Regina Rogues 41-35 and the Regina Condors beat the Campion Grads 51-14.
