SERVICES ELIGIBLE UNDER THE ASD INDIVIDUALIZED FUNDING PROGRAM
Parents with children who have autism spectrum disorder under the age of six can apply now for individualized funding for eligible services. Service providers must be listed on the Autism Service Provider Registry maintained by the Ministry of Health. The registry will be available next month.
Private service providers are encouraged to sign up for the registry and can contact autismregistry@health.gov.sk.ca for information on how to do so.
ELIGIBLE SERVICES
Autism service providers — regulated rehabilitation professionals such as occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech language pathologists; regulated counselling professionals — social workers and psychologists; behaviour consultants; interventionists/ aides to implement therapeutic programs, under the supervision of a professional on the Autism Service Provider Registry, and promote social inclusion; respite services; therapeutic equipment, as recommended by approved professionals; travel costs to access services in the province or pay service providers to travel to the family; and, training/coaching for parents or caregivers
NOT ELIGIBLE
Home repairs, renovations, household items (including appliances); electronic equipment not recommended by an approved professional (e.g. computer, ipad); basic needs (i.e. shelter, food, clothing); medical services and equipment
(i.e. incontinence supplies, medication, supplements, vitamins, special diets); sports/recreational fees and activities (i.e. dance class, swimming pass) and sports/fitness equipment not recommended by a professional on the registry (treadmill, bike); and vacations.
