Wintergreene Estates,

-

Regina’s premier retirement community, has recently completed major renovations making the seniors’ residence even more comfortable and inviting. “The $1.5 million project has rejuvenated our common areas,” says Tony Giambattista, general manager. “We have a fresh new look, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.” Among the changes are a total refresh to the Prairie Schooner, Wintergreene Estates’ in-house bar and lounge. The social hub of the community, residents can now enjoy two flat screen TVS, one 80-inch and the other 60-inch — perfect for enjoying game day with friends and a refreshing beverage. The dining room and bistro have also been refurbished, and both are elegantly appointed and modernized. What hasn’t changed at Wintergreene is the commitment to quality senior living and aging in place. There are four lifestyles available for seniors looking to join the Wintergreene community. First, there are the Residences for independent seniors. One and two- bedroom suites with full kitchens and in-suite laundry allow residents to maintain their independence while still enjoying the amenities Wintergreene has to offer. For seniors wanting a little more care, the Assisted Living Suites offer kitchenettes, but all meals are provided in the dining room. “Residents can still prepare a continental breakfast or snack in our bistro if they wish, and they can also enjoy all the chef-prepared meals,” says Giambattista. Aging in place at Wintergreene also allows residents to move through the various stages of care as needed. The Households provide 24 hour, seven day a week care in suites with private bathrooms. Staffed with licensed practical nurses, a doctor also attends weekly for home medical care. “Our Households give our residents all the comforts of home with the additional care they need,” says Giambattista. For seniors needing additional assistance because of memory needs, there is also the Memory Care Household. This level of care offers suites with private bathrooms, specialized activity programming and nursing care with an additional level of security. “Whatever we can do to make our residents safe with their medical issues, we do,” says Giambattista. No matter what option seniors choose, they have access to all the amenities Wintergreene Estates has to offer. There is shuttle service for medical appointments, shopping and personal care. Menus and meals are prepared by a Red Seal Chef. An in-house salon offers hair styling and nail care services. The bistro is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and stocked with snacks and drinks. A private dining area can be reserved for special occasions for residents to host friends and family. There are a host of entertainment events and classes to enjoy, including “Forever in Motion” exercise program, Yoga, card tournaments, “Meet Me at the Moma” art program and Wii Bowling leagues. “Our staff members work hard to create an environment that is not only comfortable, but enriching,” says Giambattista.
