Police charge second person in shooting
A second person has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting on Sunday morning that left a man with lifethreatening injuries.
On Monday, the Regina Police Service (RPS) announced that a 27-year-old Regina woman had been charged in connection with the shooting.
On Thursday, police said the investigation had also led to a 29-year-old Regina man being charged. The man was located Monday at a home in the 400 block of Connaught Street, and resulted in a SWAT team response that was reported on Tuesday morning.
Police began negotiating with the occupant of the home, which extended into Tuesday morning. The negotiation was eventually resolved, and police entered the home.
During the search the 29-yearold man was found and arrested. Police also seized a 12-gauge shotgun, which they believe was used in the alleged attempted murder.
The 29-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder using a firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition, use of a firearm in an indictable offence, four counts breach of undertaking, possession of a scheduled substance (meth), possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.
The man made his first appearance in provincial court on Wednesday.
