FUN EVENTS to GET you IN THE SPIRIT OF HALLOWEEN

Every year, Regina has no shortage of spooky events to get you into the Halloween spirit.

Whether it’s a family-friendly dance party at the Regina Public Library or heading up to the lab — to see what’s on the slab — at Sterling Production­s’ live performanc­es of the Rocky Horror Show, there’s a variety of things to do this October.

TUESDAY OCT. 23 TO FRIDAY OCT. 26 The Rocky Horror Show Conexus Arts Centre Convention Hall, 200 Lakeshore Dr.

Join Sterling Production­s and the cast of the Rocky Horror Show as they take you on a strange journey to the castle of Dr. Frank-nfurter, a transvesti­te from the planet Transylvan­ia.

Although audience participat­ion is encouraged to enhance the experience, bringing your own participat­ion props is not. Audience members can purchase prop bags once they get to the theatre. General admission tickets are $33.50 in advance and $38.50 on the day of the show. VIP tickets are also available for $43.50, which includes early admission, a signed program and a participat­ion bag.

SATURDAY OCT. 20 TO WEDNESDAY OCT. 31 Al Benesocky’s Shock House

Time: Wednesday, Thursday, and Tuesday, Oct. 30, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

In its 14th year, if you’re looking for a scare, look no further than Al Benesocky’s Shock House, Saskatchew­an’s largest haunted attraction. Tickets: $20 or $30 for a speed pass, getting you to the front of the line sooner.

SATURDAY OCT. 20 TO SATURDAY NOV. 3 Mystery Mansion’s Haunted Hunt

2120 College Ave.

Time: Bookings from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The spirits of the Carthien family are restless and it’s up to you and your team of paranormal investigat­ors to solve the mystery and make it out alive. Returning for a second year, Mystery Mansion’s Haunted Hunt now features two different rooms to choose from, alternatin­g each week. Book online at www.mysteryman­sionregina.ca/ the-haunted-hunt.html to ensure your spot. Maximum group size is six people. Tickets: $15 to $20.

FRIDAY OCT. 26 TO SATURDAY OCT. 27 Monster Mash Weekend

Revival Music Room,

2224 Dewdney Ave.

Time: Doors 7 p.m., music begins at 8:30 p.m.

It’ll be a graveyard smash at the Revival Musical Room for the Monster Mash Weekend, featuring music from FOGDOG and El Guitaro. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. Admission: $10 each night.

SATURDAY OCT. 20

Monster Mash Family Dance Party

Regina Public Library — Sherwood Village Branch meeting room,

6121 Rochdale Blvd.

Time: 10 a.m.

Drop in at the Sherwood Village Library with your family for a chance to show off your moves at a Halloween dance party — don’t forget to come in costume.

WEDNESDAY OCT. 24 Halloween Pairing

Willow Park Wine & Spirits, 4715 Gordon Rd.

Time: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Head to Willow Park Wine & Spirits to find out exactly what beer, wine or cocktail goes best with your favourite Halloween candy. Tickets: $15.

Zombie Face Painting

Regina Public Library — Regent Place Branch, program room, 331 Albert St.

Time: 7 p.m.

Learn how to apply zombie face makeup from face-painting artist Cristian Barreno. Registrati­on is required. Ages 14 and up.

THURSDAY OCT. 25

If These Walls Could Talk — Halloween Edition

Government House,

4607 Dewdney Ave.

Time: 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

An interactiv­e tour at Government House where you can “hear the stories of the people who loved working at Government House so much that some say they never left.”

SATURDAY OCT. 27

Halloween Bash

G. Marconi Italian Club of Regina, 2148 Connaught St.

Time: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

A Halloween Bash featuring music from The Otherz and Odd Man Out. Tickets: $20 advance, $25 at the door.

Halloween Comic Fest

Comic Readers Downtown, 2125 11th Ave. and Comic Readers South, 4603 Albert St.

Both Comic Readers stores in Regina will be participat­ing in Halloween Comic Fest, where customers can pick up free comics all day on Oct. 27. Additional­ly, keep an eye out for mini comic packs to hand out to kids on Halloween night.

Wascana Spooktacul­ar

2900 Wascana Dr. Time: Noon to 3 p.m.

A Halloween village, dissection­s, creepy games and crafts and a meet and greet with live animals will be taking place at Wascana Place all afternoon. Free to attend and open to all ages.

Halloween Slime’tacular

Participat­ing Chapters and Indigo locations

Time: 11 a.m.

Dress up and join in on the Halloween parade or check out the colour-changing slime station and enter to win a Goosebumps giveaway. Call a store associate for more informatio­n.

Monster Bash Suc-u-lent Planting Party

Regina Floral Conservato­ry, 1450B Fourth Ave.

Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Create your own succulent container as a fundraiser for the Regina Floral Conservato­ry. Costumes welcome. Tickets: $60, price includes materials and a “bubbling brew.”

Halloween Latenighte­r

Laser Quest, 10A Hesse Bay Time: 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Head down to Laser Quest in costume for some Halloween fun, including specialty games, prizes and, of course, candy. Book a spot in advance for $25 or $30 at the door. Spots are limited.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Kramer Imax Theatre,

2903 Powerhouse Dr.

Time: Show begins at 7 p.m.

Grab some popcorn and head to the Imax for a screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, part of the After Dark Film Series. Audience participat­ion and costumes are encouraged. However, messy props like rice aren’t allowed. Ages 19 and up. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the theatre.

Annual Celtic Halloween Party

Bushwakker Brew Pub,

2206 Dewdney Ave.

Time: Band begins at 8 p.m., costume contest at 9:30 p.m.

Enjoy a pint of great pumpkin spiced brown ale and food specials with live music from West of Mabou. Additional­ly, enter the costume contest for an opportunit­y to win a $100 Bushwakker gift card. $5 cover charge.

SUNDAY OCT. 28

Halloween Dance Party

Halloween Family Craft Program

Head to the Central Branch of the Regina Public Library to create your own Halloween decoration­s. Registrati­on is required.

Monsters and Mounties

RCMP Heritage Centre, 5907 Dewdney Ave.

Time: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Wear your costumes to the RCMP Heritage Centre for a family-friendly afternoon full of dancing, Halloween stories, movies and more. Regular admission applies.

A fun, family-friendly afternoon filled with party games, crafts, snacks and a haunted house. Don’t forget your costume.

An evening full of crafts, games, bouncy castles and more. Costumes welcome. Tickets: $5 for children, free for adults and children under two years old.

Bump in the Night

A family-friendly event at Government House featuring tours, games and activities for all ages.

Trick-or-treat at the Mall

Time: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Take your children to the Northgate or Victoria Square malls to trick-or-treat at participat­ing stores.

Family Halloween Party

Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Take a break from trick-or-treating to grab a hot apple cider and play some games. Everyone welcome, free to attend.

FRIDAY NOV. 2

Monster Mash for MS

German Club Regina, 1727 St. John’s St. Time: 8 p.m.

Get your costume ready for the eighth annual Monster Mash for MS, including karaoke, a DJ, drink specials and more. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. All proceeds go toward the MS Society. Tickets: $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Ages 19 and up.
