Teens charged in connection with string of break-ins

Two teen boys have been charged in connection with a series of break and enters at Regina businesses.

On Oct. 30, at approximat­ely 12:45 a.m., police responded to a business in the 800 block of Albert Street for an alarm. When officers arrived they saw two young males walking away from the business. The suspects were carrying what appeared to be electronic equipment and a backpack.

The suspects were stopped by police and put under arrest. The backpack was found to contain other items that were confirmed to be stolen property. Further investigat­ion by police led to the boys being charged in connection with several other break and enters at businesses in the city.

The boys, both 15 years old, were charged in connection with five break and enters at businesses in areas including the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue, 400 block of Victoria Avenue East, 1200 block of Park Street and 800 block of Albert Street. All of the break and enters happened during October.

One of the boys was also charged in connection with a break and enter at a business in the 1200 block of Broad Street on Oct. 28.

Police are continuing to investigat­e other break and enters that have not yet been solved.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the boys cannot be published. Both will appear in youth court on Dec. 18.
