Brian Baggett, the only Chapman Stick performer in Saskatchew­an, celebrates his new album at the Creative City Centre on Thursday, Nov. 8. Music starts at 8 p.m., with Brodie Moniker sharing the bill. Cover is $15 at the door.

Fan of good old country music? How about good stories? You should check out Winnipeg troubadour Sean Burns, who comes around often but is always worth seeing. He’s at the Capitol on Thursday, Nov. 8, starting at 8 p.m.

Regina blues-rock guitarist Scott Pettigrew will perform some of the songs from his new album, Rising Tide, at a CD release party on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Revival Music Room. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Admission at the door is $15.

Artist Garry Neill Kennedy and curator Sara Raza are at the Mackenzie Art Gallery on Friday night to tour and talk about their current exhibition­s, respective­ly, Ya Ummi, Ya Ummi … and Punk Orientalis­m. Doors are at 7 p.m. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

Pianist Katherine Dowling and violinist Amy Hillis perform together on Friday, Nov. 9, at the University of Regina Riddell Centre theatre. Sounds like it won’t be a typical classical concert, though: According to Hillis, “This show will include warped video, glitched electronic­s, Ping-pong balls, fox tails, wild birds, parchment paper, appearance­s from movies such as The Shining and/ or The Sound of Music, audience participat­ion, playing tag, stomping, shouting, humming and singing while at times involving the violin and piano.” Admission is free and music starts at 7:30 p.m.

Regina band Snake River (self-described “psych twang ”) celebrates its fifth album’s release with a show at the Exchange on Friday, Nov. 9. Several Saskatchew­an artists contribute­d to the recording, including Shelby Gaudet, Karl Valiaho and Christophe­r Laramee and some of them will be at the show to guestappea­r on stage. Saskatoon bands The Garrys (garage surf doomwop) and The Radiation Flowers (shoegaze/psych) kick things off. Doors at 8 p.m. Cover is $10.

Regina alt-rock band Thank

You Kindly is playing O’hanlon’s on Friday, Nov. 9. Music starts sometime after 10 p.m. Admission is free.

Country legend Charlie Pride performs at the Conexus Arts Centre on Friday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m. Tickets start at $82 and are available at conexustic­ket.com.

Lexi Desjarlais and Joelle Fuller perform solo sets at Lemon Drop Salon (1954 Angus St.) on Saturday, Nov. 10, in this fundraiser show for SOFIA House women’s shelter. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and Lexi goes on at 8:30.

Classified, Choclair and Maestro Fresh Wes are at the Exchange on Saturday, Nov. 10. Doors at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30. Get them in advance at ticketfly. com.

Heavy metal band Mac Sabbath is a parody of Black Sabbath with lyrics centred on fast food. Their songs include parodies like Paira-buns (to Sabbath’s Paranoid), Frying Pan (Iron Man) and Never Say Diet (Never Say Die). The opening band is Frank & Deans, a rock ’n’ roll Rat Pack tribute band. The all-ages show is Saturday, Nov. 10, 8 p.m. at the Riddell Centre multipurpo­se room. Advance tickets are $18 at Madame Yes and Vintage Vinyl.

Wonderland is the soundtrack to Revival Music Room’s CFL playoff game after-party on Sunday, Nov. 11. Doors open at 6 p.m., though the band goes on later than that. Cover is $10.

The Luther Bach Choir presents And on Earth, Peace: Music for Remembranc­e Day, a Best of the Baroque Concert Series performanc­e, on Sunday, Nov. 11, 7:30 p.m. at the Luther College (U of R) Rex Schneider Auditorium. The concert features guest instrument­alists, and choral music by such composers as J. S. Bach and Gabriel Faure, performed by friends and alumni of Luther College. Admission is free.

Keiffer Mclean and the Curiosity Club (Regina, folk), A La Mode (Winnipeg, dream pop) and Witchknife (Regina, droning loops) perform in the Artesian lounge on Sunday, Nov. 11. Doors at 7, show at 8. Cover is $10 or pay what you can.

Lords of Sceptre is a one-act play depicting the powerhouse team from Saskatchew­an’s Golden Era of Baseball (1948-51), on Monday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m. at Lakeview United Church. The script is by Maureen Ulrich, who wrote Diamond Girls. Directed by Mark Claxton, who just completed the U of R’s Blood Relations. Pay tribute to veterans and war brides with Side by Side quartet (Dianne Burrows, Carolyn Speirs, Norris Bjorndahl and Doug Pederson, with pianist Bill Sgrazzutti and bass Danny Jones) as they present Lest We Forget: Songs from the War Years at the Artesian on 13th on Monday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are available at Dancer’s Den Dancewear, 1630 Albert St.

Real actors take the stage during A Charlie Brown Christmas at the Conexus Arts Centre on Tuesday, Nov. 13. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $47.50 to $77.50 (plus all the extra taxes and fees). Get them at conexustic­ket.com.

Montreal psychobill­y band Gutter Demons is at the Exchange (Club side) on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Doors at 8 p.m. $10 cover at the door. All ages and licensed.

The Alley Dawgs play country classics at the Fat Badger on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 9:30 p.m.

The Headstones are at Casino Regina on Tuesday night to deliver classic Canadian alt-rock during the 25th-anniversar­y year of their first album, Picture of Health. Music starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are available at mytickets.casinoregi­na.com. Opening band The Matchstick Skeletons is, according to a PR email, “the James Brown/lemmy love child nobody asked for.” So that’s cool.

Next night, same venue, is Canadian country gem George Canyon. His Casino show starts at 8 p.m. Plenty of balcony tickets were available, last we checked. Get them at mytickets.casinoregi­na.com.

Saskatonia­n Jordan Cook fronts famous-but-recordless blues-rock band Reignwolf, which is playing the Exchange on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Doors at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m., $20 advance tickets available at ticketweb.ca.

The Glorious Sons and The Beaches are putting on a rock show at the Conexus Arts Centre on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $40 and are available at conexustic­ket.com.
