Spring Awakening, the Grammy and Tony Award-winning adaptation by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, is being presented by University of Regina theatre students. Written in 1891, the coming-of-age story is still relevant today. It’s staging at the University Theatre, U of R Riddell Centre, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and are available through brownpaper­tickets.com.

The Tilted Kilts perform at a Celtic Halloween Party at Bushwakker on Thursday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m. $5 cover. There are prizes for best costume.

Christina Martin and Dale Murray are touring their album Wonderful Lie, which includes stripped down originals and covers (including songs by ABBA and Bob Dylan). They’re at the Artesian on Thursday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Awesome blues-rocker Terra Lightfoot plays the Exchange on Thursday, Oct. 31., 8 p.m. Sam Weber opens. Tickets are $22 in advance and available through reginafolk­festival.com.

Hoodoo, Moz and Luca5 are having a Halloween hip-hop show at The Lot on Thursday, Oct. 31, 9 p.m.

The Playing For Change Film Festival takes place Friday through Sunday at the RPL

Film Theatre (Central library), starting at 6:30 p.m. each night. Advocacy is a theme among all five films: On Friday, Another News Story and Falls Around Her. On Saturday, After the Apology, followed by a panel discussion with Patricia Elliott, Audrey Dreaver, Risa Payant and Skyler Anderson. On Sunday, Anote’s Ark and Sharkwater Extinction. Live music precedes each film. Admission is free on Saturday, and $12 otherwise.

Party inside an art exhibition at the Mackenzie Art Gallery’s gala on Friday, Nov. 1, 7 p.m. Mitchell Wiebe’s Vampsites, with bold colours and black lights, is the setting for the fundraiser event. Tickets are $130 at mackenzieg­ala.com.

Thrashtalk and Robin Mang are Djing during Death Disco at The Cure on Friday, Nov. 1, 9 p.m.

The Wild!, W3apons, Excuses Excuses, and Dead Levee are playing rock music at the Exchange on Friday, Nov. 1. Doors at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.

A Tribute To Journey, Styx & Foreigner is happening at the

Casino Regina Show Lounge on Friday, Nov. 1, 8 p.m. Tickets are $32.

Dave N The Divers play classic rock music Friday, Nov. 1, 9:30 p.m. at Revival Music Room. $10 cover.

Saskatoon indie-rock band Friends of Foes plays Friday, Nov. 1, 11 p.m. at O’hanlon’s.

Soul Deep plays R&B, funk, disco and Motown classics on Saturday, Nov. 2, 8 p.m. at The Exchange. Jaecy Bells opens the show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at Long & Mcquade, St. John’s Music, Vintage Vinyl and at the door (barring a sellout).

There’s open mic comedy at Shannon’s Pub on Saturday, 8:30 p.m.

Check out The Cure for a night of Halloween cover sets on Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 p.m. Musicians from The Extroverts, Midnight Gallows, Herb And The Humans, Pop Pop Vernac, Trash Hawks, Black Thunder, The Bolans, G.B. Loon, Failed States and Alex Mullock play songs from The Clash, Turbonegro, Black Flag and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games. Cover is $5 and costumes are encouraged.

Queen City Cabaret presents Anything Goes, “a dance-filled one-night stand,” on Saturday, Nov. 2, 8 p.m. at the Artesian. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Must be 18 or older to attend.

The Regina Symphony Orchestra presents its free library concert series on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2 p.m. at the Regina Public Library Central branch.

Join Bruce Rice (Saskatchew­an Poet Laureate and award-winning author), Tara Dawn Solheim (performer, poet, and musician) and Diana Cook (Regina Public Library programmer) in conversati­on on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2-4 p.m. at Cathedral Neighbourh­ood Centre.
