Regina Leader-Post

PLETZ, Eleanor Mae

-

On Friday, November 8, 2019 Jesus saw that Eleanor was getting tired and wrapped his arms around her and took her home to be with her beloved Allan.

Eleanor will forever be in our hearts. Her memories will be cherished by her children Larry (Sonya), Garry (Sharon), Bev (Rob) Deglau, and Greg (Angie); grandchildren Nicole, Ashley, Nathan, Matthew, Wesley, Bradley, Meghann, Kalvin and Nisa; great-grandchildren Austin, Cody, Alexa, Noelle and Max. She will be sadly missed by her sister Doreen (Leon) and brothers Jim (Carlyn), Leonard (Sheila) and John; brothers-in-law Ray, Jim (Jeannie) and sister-in-law Gen. Eleanor will also be reunited with her brother Bob, sisters-in-law Judy and Shirley, and nephews Roddy and Dion.

Eleanor was born to John and Wilma Weikum on August 3, 1934 and was raised on the family farm in Qu’appelle, SK. On July 3, 1956 she married her true love Allan Pletz. They began their journey together in Regina where they made a home for themselves and their children. Eleanor was a wonderful wife and mother putting her family before herself and all else.

Eleanor was a happy, fun-loving, kind lady who enjoyed helping others. She was an elementary school teacher with the Regina Catholic School Division. Mom truly did what she loved and loved what she did. She had a passion for learning not only for herself but also for others.

The family is grateful for Monica, Maria and the caregivers at Gardiner Point Care Home for the exceptional care, compassion and most of all the love they showed to Mom.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle Street N., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan in Eleanor’s name. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family’s online obituary at: www.myalternatives.ca
