NEW MEASURES

■ Sask. government introduced amendments to allow employees access to protected leaves from their jobs during a public health emergency — includes removing requiremen­t for a doctor’s note or certificat­e, Removes requiremen­t for 13 consecutiv­e weeks of employment prior to accessing sick leave and introduces new unpaid public health emergency leave, retroactiv­e to March 6.

■ The Sask. Party government is only releasing an expenditur­e statement, scrapping all revenue projection­s, effectivel­y postponing its formal budget presentati­on.

■ Team created to help schools transition once schools shut down March 20. As schools wind down this week in response to COVID-19, the province says a team has already started working through “the logistics of the transition.”

■ The Regina Police Service is asking the public to avoid unnecessar­y in-person visits. The front doors of the police station at 1717 Osler St. are now locked and a commission­aire will attend and meet anyone seeking entry to ask a series of health-related questions before entry is allowed.

The front desk remains open and does the record check area.

■ Callers to the police communicat­ions centre can expect a few more questions about travel and the health of the occupants of your home before officers attend.

NUMBERS

■ As of Tuesday, 880 COVID-19 tests ordered — 191 in the north, 284 from Saskatoon area and 455 from south, including Regina

■ As of Tuesday, six presumptiv­e cases and two confirmed in the province. The latest one a resident in their 50s, tested in Regina, following travel to Vancouver. To date, seven of the eight cases are travel-related, while one is a person residing in the same home as a positive case.

■ Royal Saskatchew­an Museum closed until further notice.

■ T.rex Discovery Centre in Eastend closed until May 16.

■ Globe Theatre is cancelling the rest of its 2019-20 season and temporaril­y closing its doors to the public.
