Police ask for help in finding vandals smashing bus shelter glass

Regina police are looking for informatio­n and suspects after nearly 30 bus shelters in the city were damaged in less than two weeks.

Between Nov. 30 and Dec. 8, there have been 29 reported incidents of smashed glass in transit bus shelters, all across the city, according to a news release issued this week.

Police are investigat­ing but have not identified a suspect or suspects.

“These crimes cost everyone in terms of tax dollars and create inconvenie­nce and discomfort to users of the transit system who lose a place to shelter and stay warm,” the release notes.

The shelters are located around the city:

■ Nov. 30 — 3100 East Quance St., 1600 Broadway Ave., 1400 College Ave., 1300 College Ave., 600 East College Ave., 4400 Diefenbake­r Dr., 1200 College Ave., 2200 East Quance St. (two incidents), 99 Cambridge Ave.

■ Dec. 1 — 900 Broadway Ave., 2300 E. Assiniboin­e Ave., 2200 East Quance St.

■ Dec. 4 — 5300 Diefenbake­r Dr. (two incidents)

■ Dec. 6 — 3737 Wascana Parkway, 2100 College Ave., 1000 Mcintosh St., 1600 Albert St., 2000 College Ave., 400 Rink Ave., 1000 Pasqua St., 1300 Albert St., 1341 Broadway Ave., 1000 Broadway Ave.

■ Dec. 7 — 2000 Winnipeg St., 3700 Chuka Blvd.

■ Dec. 8 — 2500 Assiniboin­e Ave. E., 2900 Chuka Blvd.
