It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Cantin on Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Regina, SK. He will be dearly missed by his wife of many years, Hope; daughter Bonnie (Art Hosie); and his grandchildren Eric, Jeff (Rachele) and Kyla (Martin). Barry is also survived by his brother Bob (Bernadette) and their family: Angela (Mike), Gerad (Michelle and their children Joshua and Levi) and Rachel; in-laws Terry Lawson, Danny and Carol Lawson, Peggy and Daryl Fleece, Lillian and Rick Dalton and Colleen and Kevin Parker; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Rosa Cantin; cousin Theresa Cichocki; parents-in-law Amy and Cecil Lawson; and sisters-in-law Marlene Lawson and Paige Finney. Barry grew up in Regina. Upon finishing high school, he was employed by Auto Electric Service. He ended up working there for his entire career, forty-six years! He was a devoted and steady employee and made many friends there. Barry loved cars and always kept his car spotlessly clean and waxed. He also loved music. He had a huge selection of CDS. When he was in his seventies, he began taking guitar lessons from his grandson Jeff. He really enjoyed learning how to play those golden oldies. Up until the last few years, Barry enjoyed regular lunches with a few longtime friends. It must be mentioned what good friends Ken and Claire Eberts and Grant Stevens were to Barry. Barry was a loving and devoted husband, dad and grandfather. He will be missed. At Barry’s request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barry’s name may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
