RSO offers new educational show
The Regina Symphony Orchestra is presenting a new online educational show — Li'l Shadd: A Story of Ujima — through the RSO in Schools program.
Originally a picture book, Li'l Shadd has been reimagined with music by composers of African descent and will be performed by RSO musicians, featuring narrator Sharon-ann Brown and singer/ drummer Jeff Cappo. Brown is also the chairperson of the Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum.
The story chronicles one of Saskatchewan's first settlers of African descent, Dr. Alfred Schmitz Shadd.
The 30-minute show and teacher's guide can be viewed at reginasymphony.com/education/rso-inschools/lil-shadd-performance.
