The Power Plant

The Power Plant Con­tem­po­rary Art Gallery cel­e­brated its 30th an­niver­sary on Fe­bru­ary 23rd at TIFF Bell Light­box in Toronto with its an­nual Face to Face fundraiser. The event brings to­gether artists and es­teemed guests for an in­ti­mate din­ner and cul­tural dis­cus­sion. With 2017 also be­ing Canada’s 150th year, Face to Face cel­e­brated artists that have shaped the fab­ric of the Cana­dian con­tem­po­rary art land­scape. The artists in at­ten­dance, in­clud­ing Na­dia Belerique, Valérie Blass, Ju­lia Dault, Stan Dou­glas, and more, spoke about the evo­lu­tion of their ca­reers through their ex­pe­ri­ence with The Power Plant and their opin­ions on con­tem­po­rary art in Canada. As well, a panel dis­cus­sion was mod­er­ated by Frieze Mag­a­zine co-ed­i­tor Dan Fox. The Power Plant gallery is open all year long, and is free to the pub­lic. The Win­ter 2017 Ex­hi­bi­tion is on un­til May 14.
