Hounds moving on in playoffs

One goal was all they needed as Alexi Thibaudeau picked up a 25-save shutout to lead the Notre Dame Hounds to a 1-0 victory over the Nipawin Hawks on Tuesday night. The win wrapped up the Hounds’ best-of-five wild card series 3-1, putting the team into the second round of the SJHL playoffs.

Left wing Logan Saworski got the lone goal on a power play at 7:13 of the second period. Joe O’Brien made 18 saves in a losing effort.

The fifth and deciding game of the other wild card playoff series between the Flin Flon Bombers and Estevan Bruins is Thursday night in Estevan.
