Sleepy Sun comes to Canada

Who: Matt Webb When: Tuesday Where: O’Brians Event Centre What: Matt Webb is taking his first solo headlining tour of Canada after years of touring with his Juno-winning band. The guitarist for Marianas Trench released his new solo EP Right Direction in February. He intentionally took a different approach than the “quantum level of precision, planning and craft that the Trench typically brings to its elaborate pop constructions.” Webb didn’t want anything too flashy. In that vein, he and producer Kevin Maher built a temporary studio in his parents’ house to complete work on the EP, recording vocals in his teenage bedroom. Who: Celtic Woman When: Wednesday Where: TCU Place What: It is fitting that Celtic Woman is coming to town just around St. Patrick’s Day. The allfemale musical ensemble is touring in support of the new album/DVD Emerald: Musical Gems. The show will features fan favourites and songs from the new album, including Mo Ghile Mear, She Moves Thru the Fair and Caladonia. On tour, the group will be joined by the Aontas Choir, bagpipers and championship Irish dancers. Since its creation in 2004, Celtic Woman has recorded eight CDs and seven DVDs.
