Children approached by suspicious elderly man

Saskatoon police are investigating reports about a suspicious man approaching children near the University of Saskatchewan.

On at least two occasions, children reported that they were playing outside in the Carleton Drive area when an elderly man on a yellow bicycle approached them and tried to engage them in conversa- tion, police said Wednesday. The kids told their parents, who notified police.

The man is described as having white or grey hair and a beard. In one incident, he was reportedly wearing a blue ball cap, blue pants and black shoes.

Police want to remind parents and children to walk or play in pairs or groups, stay in well-populated, well-lit areas and report suspicious activity immediately.
